Planting Day at Botany Wetlands

Following the extended period of COVID-19 Lockdown in Sydney, a team of enthusiastic volunteers participated in a planting day in Botany Wetlands. The group of 8 engaged in hand weeding, rubbish clearance, hole boring and planting 5 native flora species (…). Over 800 plants were planted in a time span of 4 hours leading to an area of … square metres being revegetated. The volunteering day was part of a larger Botany Wetlands project that has been assigned to the Foundation and our consistent efforts have led to a tangible change in the location’s ecological health and diversity.

Following a successful day of work, the crew had a lovely morning tea, boosting team morale and social interaction following the long stretch of lockdown. It was great to see everyone enjoying themselves and working diligently. We would like to thank all the volunteers for their efforts and look forward to seeing everyone for the next community event.
